The Retreat

Given the current situation of COVID-19, the 2020 LaunchPad Retreat has been cancelled.

The LaunchPad Retreat brings together Jewish leaders and activists from across Australia to think big about what’s possible for the Jewish community and then, make it happen! Whether you’re looking for a gateway to connect with community, or wanting to build and sustain groundbreaking Jewish initiatives, the LaunchPad Retreat provides the space and guidance to support all participants to innovate in Jewish life.

The retreat will take place outside of the city, free from the usual demands of everyday life to focus on what really matters to you.

The retreat will give you the opportunity to:

  • Participate in a number of workshops, interactive presentations, engaging speakers and peer-led activities;

  • Connect with a diverse cohort from across the Jewish community who share similar passions and interests;

  • Acquire tools to create and collaborate for greater impact;

  • Feel inspired to contribute to Jewish life and wider society;

  • Adopt a growth mindset to solving some of the community’s greatest challenges;

  • Proactively drive positive change and be at the forefront of creating the world we want to live in; and

  • Apply for a ‘Dave Grant’ of up to $7,500 after the retreat to provide financial support to bring your ideas to life.

RED HILL, VIC | MAY 3-5, 2020

Close your eyes. Take a minute to imagine: what does the Australian Jewish community look like in 5, 10, 20 years from now? What are your aspirations? And what are you doing to achieve them?

The 2020 LaunchPad Retreat will be the seventh of its kind. We are looking for people who care about connection with Jewish community, including dreamers, doers, entrepreneurs, professionals, philanthropists, leaders and those who are looking to be more communally active.

So much gratitude to our organisational partners and donors for enabling the 2020 LaunchPad Retreat by heavily subsidising the cost for all participants. Some examples of costs covered thanks to their generosity include:

  • Award-winning accommodation set on a vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula

  • Exceptional Kosher catering like you’ve never experienced before by To Catch a Chef

  • Return airfares for those coming from interstate

  • Inspiring facilitation led by world renowned Jewish leaders

  • Resources and materials

  • Environmentally-friendly and useful SWAG (cool ‘stuff we all get' to keep)

It’s thanks to their vision that LaunchPad can provide this incredible opportunity to think of what is possible for Jewish life in Australia.

LaunchPad 2020 registration fee is $500 in a shared, Twin room or $620 to guarantee your own King room. Subsidies available.

No two LaunchPadders are exactly alike, but we’ve boiled down the basics of what we look for when selecting participants.

We are looking for you! Every single one of us brings unique backgrounds, experiences and perspectives to the gathering. Here are some of the things we think may be useful to helping you decide if the retreat is for you:

  • Over the age of 25;

  • Available to participate for the entire retreat, from Sunday 3 May until Tuesday 5 May;

  • Have not previously attended a LaunchPad Retreat;

  • Community-minded: take an active role in community life OR are eager to;

  • Open to leveraging networking opportunities to form both personal and professional ties;

  • Excited by the idea of leading or being an active member advancing causes or projects that you are passionate about; and

  • Are generous and willing to give of your time, expertise and connections as needed to make things happen.

So are you looking to connect with Jewish community and be a part of an active and supportive network?
